In term 4, we will work towards performing Christmas music. Hopefully we can do some public performances – probably Gleadell Street market (We raised over $1000 for the Salvation Army Christmas appeal last year). Obviously live performance is dependent on DHHS advice at the time. There are alternative plans in the works, so we’ll learn the music and just see what the situation is closer to December.
My plan this year is for all students to play together in mixed groups from Intermediate and Brass Bands. The more experienced students will play the more difficult parts, and help lead the less experienced students through the music.

The melody part is for cornets. I expect this part to be played by all the experienced cornet players (and flugelhorn players). Any adventurous Rookie cornet players are welcome to have a go though!
Players of any instrument are welcome to try some of these melodies in their own time too!
This part is for Lachlan, the only soprano cornet player in the band.
This part (Harmony A) is for cornets, mainly for Rookie and Intermediate band cornet players. It plays a supporting part to the melody, and mainly doesn’t go higher than a G.
This part is for all tenor horn players in all bands.
This part is for all trombone, baritone and euphonium and Bb tuba players in all bands.
This part is for all Eb tuba players in all bands.
This part is for all percussionists in both bands. If we end up performing with more than one player I will write extra parts.
